What time is it? It’s time to write another blog post and I don’t need a clock to tell me that. It’s way, way past hours and minutes since I last posted here.
In fact, it’s a staggering 654 days, so a mere puff on a dandelion is enough to tell me it’s time. Fortunately, it’s so long ago, I don’t even have to try to fill in the gaps. I wholeheartedly recommend leaving a near 2-year gap to any recovering perfectionist.
My apologies if you missed me. My apologies if you were thinking ‘oh no, I thought I’d got rid of her..’
My apologies again going forward if I don’t spend hours making sure I respond to every comment with anything more than a kiss in the ether. I do read every one but I’m also busy with a few other things I have to prioritise.
Up there is still writing the book. My back is much better but I still manage my time sitting at a computer very carefully.
We’ve relocated to Warwickshire and I’m enjoying being in walking distance of a coffee shop and not too much further from good friends, old and new. It’s friendly around here and on a whim, I declared early on that it was the “Year of Saying Yes” to meet as many new people as possible.
So far that means I’ve taken up public speaking, including speaking about my cancer recovery. I’m working with a hospital in London on a support programme for cancer patients and I’ve also agreed to read some of my work at a couple of literary events. I’ve said yes to acupuncture for a frozen shoulder and yes to Veganuary, yes to No Sugar February. I’ve sort of failed on both of those but it’s always good to shake things up a bit, get your mind moving. I’m loving it.
So what time is it really? It’s time to ask if anyone can help me say yes to Zumba without actually having to go?!

Lovely to hear from you again, Lisa. I started taking part in the writing community about four years ago on your ‘Bite Size Memory’, which I fondly remember. Then I went on to other challenges and communities, such as Flash! Friday, Carrot Ranch, Friday Fictioneers, etc…
I’m glad your enjoying your new home and surroundings and that you’re keeping busy writing and encouraging cancer patients.
Looking forward to more news and blog posts ❤😍❤

Wish were in the same neck of the woods – I’d do Zumba with you. Tried it once and struggled with the requirement to move my upper and lower body independently of each other. Made all the more challenging because it meant staring in the crotch region of the male instructor to try and watch what both areas were doing 😂😂😂

I have missed you and feel wildly happy that your silence was nothing but that – silence. Personally, I like a bit of the stuff. Good to hear from, of, about you.

I’m a perfect ambivert Olwen so love a bit of peace and quiet half the time! Thank you for noticing me here and not. I promise, I won’t leave you hanging for quite so long again. Feeling bad if I’ve had anyone worrying 😳

Yes! It’s good to learn about your journey since the last dandelion seeds blew. 😉 I love that you are doing public speaking. It’s definitely a part of literary art and useful to get immediate response to our storytelling which informs our writing. Say yes to Zumba! Dance!

Public Speaking is another good way to get rid of perfectionism 😂 So far I’m avoiding the Zumba by having a sore throat! 🎉

Hi Lisa, It’s lovely to hear from you again. I’ve been waiting 654 days for this post. It sounds like (some) things are going well for you and you have maintained your positive outlook on life. So pleased to hear you are still working on your memoir, and that you are sharing your story to help others. You have such a generous heart. The world needs more of you.
I wish I could help you with your last question, but sadly I can’t. The best thing about Zumba for me is letting other people do it!
Wishing you happy happy days and much to celebrate in Warwickshire. Continue to look after yourself. Hugs across the waves.
