WordPress run a weekly photo challenge and this week the theme is:

Contrasts – Light and dark, tall and short, happy and sad — this week, share a shot that captures a contrast.

Thinking light and dark, I couldn’t resist another hen – Here’s our lonesome Silver Campine who never discovered a better name than Campine!  I love the black and white contrast through her fan tail and the way her black beady eyes contrast with her red comb. She’s quite a character laying in secret all over the garden – never in the same nest once it has been discovered. I swear she can count because if you do find a nest and start sneaking eggs out (always being careful to leave a few) she ups stick and starts the game of hide and seek all over again.   IMG_4161I also dug this picture of an unusual sheep, out of my archives – I haven’t managed to identify the breed so if anyone knows, I would be delighted to hear.
