Thanks to Irene Waters for introducing me to Wordless Wednesday.
Hi, I’m Lisa and in 2000, aged 34, I was diagnosed with terminal sarcoma and given less than 6 months to live. After floundering around getting my head around cancer not being as curable as the adverts of the time were suggesting, I delved into an unknown and for me, a then uncomfortable world of 'alternative' therapies. I'm now 51 and still here. As my oncologist said at one point, I'm an 'experiment of one' which means no scientist would like to draw conclusions! However, I am far from alone in getting success from looking to diet and mind-body techniques to help my body to do its own healing. I’m writing my story for anyone who wants some inspiration or understanding of what being in this situation is all about. Writing it is slow going so I'm using this blog to keep me company as well as discuss the challenges of writing about it all. If I manage to inspire just one person to feel a bit more in control of their own situation, it will all have been worthwhile.

Yes! I think there are even hashtags for it on Twitter – And Irene also does Silent Sunday – I love the idea of it – it’ll often be chickens or cats from my snappy camera though !

Lovely photos. I was going to say “very cool”, but Stephen King has instructed me to not use those words! If a picture tells a thousand words then this is a very long post!! I enjoyed meeting the pheasant at last. I hope he has been behaving himself!

Thanks Norah – yes he’s been quieter in the mornings. I think once the hens are sat on nests, he’s busy watching over them instead of proclaiming his territory just beneath my bedroom window!

It’s fun doing a post without words glad you picked up on it. I love your relaxed in the garden but I’m worried that the the puddy cat got your ?wyandotte chicken. The cat looks very self satisfied and the chicken looks spread out.

Well spotted – that hen – “Barbie” was bought as a Rhode Island Red but she has some clear lacing on her feathers! I’ve had a couple of runty throw backs from that breeder before! She is honestly just sunbathing here and “Darth Vader” – the cat – never bothers them.

So sad. Hope you have worked out how to keep the dogs out as they usually come back for more once they have had one. Glad Darth Vader (great name for a cat) just looked happy because it was such a relaxing Wed. It looks like you live in a nice part of the world Lisa.
